Hello and welcome to Coral Island! In this guide I will be showing you what your first day on the island could look like (don’t worry each post is going to show you what is available to you for that season and so forth). Let’s dive in.
First things first character creation. Here you have options of body type, body mass, skin color.
On the upper right the icons are body, hair style, face, facial hair, outfit, and bio about your character. For the hair styles, they have several options to choose from. Limited color for the hair (hoping for blue or purple someday).
Then in the next icon you choose what your character face. You could have the character eyebrows match the hair color or not and have thick or thin eyebrows. For the eyes, nose and lips you could’ve it however big or small.
Then you can choose whether or not you want your character to have facial hair and color or not.
Then you can choose what color you want you character’s outfit to be.
And last but not least the character’s bio (what are you naming him/her/they), suffix and what do you want to name your farm?
With that done, we’re off to the island!
When you first start the game you are on a boat heading to the island.
Mr. Wataru and the Mayor Connor are the first two people you meet off the boat (Mr. Wataru drove the boat you were on). Connor greets you and takes you to your farm.
Here you meet Dinda and Joko, they’re the carpenters on the island and will be the ones you have to go to to do any upgrades to your house. Connor mentions to you to go to the local general store and meet the owner Sam. Also on your farm is a container bin where you put items you want to sell in. He also shows you your complete farm (yes, it’s a lot) and the community gifts you items you will need to get started for free.
Once you said your goodbyes, it’s time to look at your “home”. It’s really just a room they start you with, but don’t worry you get two quest to start your day with. The first being to plant seeds and water crops. The second one is to collect wood and stone to fix up your room.
The game shows you how to farm with instructions that show up on the screen. To start growing crops you have clear the farm of all the garbage, hay, fiber, trees and stones. Once you cleared the spot you want to plant at you have to till the soil. Click on the bag of seeds to equip it and place them on the tilled soil ( it will show a green box where you can put the seeds in).
For collecting the wood and stones just use your axe and pick on them to collect it. Once you collect enough wood and stone, head over the carpenters place before night fall. Every business on the island has days of operation and is not open everyday.
Once at the carpenters, you can choose the style of your house, you have five options. It doesn’t cost money just the fifty wood and twenty stone to build.
Once you choose the style of your house, we’re off to fix and clean it. Dinda and Joko are kind enough to give a free closet, drawer, rug and TV for free. The TV has a few channels on it; the weather channel, a farming tips channel called ‘How to be a farmer’ and a animal channel with a show called ‘Mooqbang with Mooq” .
Now time to get farming (if you choose to do so), the quest “Starting out” you would need to plant and water the seeds given to you.
Once that’s done, head over to Sam’s general store. There you will be greeted by Connor and Sam. Sam’s store is where you will be getting your seeds to farm from. Note: that certain produce and flowers are seasonal, meaning some you can only plant in spring, summer or fall only etc.
Up next, Connor gives you a quest to meet thirty of the townies. Next to Sam’s general store is a “community board” (that’s what I like to call it) where it shows you a calendar for the current season. Townies birthdays and events are shown. There is also an errand board, where townie request items at various times throughout the year.
Depending on how much time is left of the day, you can meet a few townies, some of them are nice and some…well let’s just say I wouldn’t hang out with them. Now remembering the time, it should be getting late. You have until 23:00 to go home and get in bed. If not you’ll wake up with a lower stamina and someone leaving a note saying they found you somewhere passed out.
And that is your first day in Coral Island. Stay tuned for more!
